Application Function Description and Precautions:

a.)Overload protection and current sampling resistance value setting:

JY01 is equipped with a relatively comprehensive overload protection function. When the value of the current sampling resistor R
is properly selected, JY01 offers overload protection and abnormal current protection functions. When the voltage at the Is pin
reaches 0.1V, the overload monitoring is activated, and the device enters the constant - current state to maintain a constant
driving current. At this time, the driving current will neither increase with the rising voltage at the VR terminal nor increase
with the increasing load. In this state, JY01 will continue to provide a continuous and constant drive for the motor, enabling
the motor to operate at maximum power without triggering the shutdown protection, thus preventing the user from falling
due to over - current protection. The following is a detailed example of how to select the value of R.

The formula for selecting the value of R is I = 0.1/R, where:

  • I represents the protection current, with the unit of "A".
  • 0.1 is the threshold constant.
  • R is the current - limiting resistor, with the unit of Ω (ohm).

Take a controller with an operating current of 20A as an example. When the current reaches or exceeds 20A, the system will maintain
the current at 20A. According to the formula I = 0.1/R, after substitution, we get R = 0.1/20, and R = 0.005 ohms.

Through calculation, it is concluded that a 5 - milliohm power resistor should be selected as the current sampling resistor (generally,
cement resistors and constantan wires are used as current sampling resistors).

b.) Reversal Z/F: The Z/F pin (pin 5) of JY01 is the steering control pin. It can be connected to Vdd and Vss to achieve reversal control.
In order to achieve a good balancing effect, the JY01 specifically designed for balance bikes features hard reversal. It can switch from
one direction to another at any time, with a fast response and strong explosive force. Due to special treatment, even when reversing
at the highest speed, the MOS tube will not be damaged by the back electromotive force generated by the motor.

c) Rotation speed signal M: When the motor rotates, the M terminal will output pulses.
The number of pulses output per revolution is related to the pole pairs of the motor.

d) Brake control: The brake of the JY01 specifically designed for balance bikes is a linear brake. The braking force ranges from 0% to 100%
as the voltage increases from low to high, which is controlled by the voltage applied to pin 1. JY01 uses a reactive - free braking method.
Therefore, the brake will not work when the motor is not rotating. The faster the motor rotates, the stronger the braking force.
This point needs to be noted during use.
